Friday, May 28, 7 p.m.: You are invited to join Geoff Roes, Juneau resident and 2009 Ultrarunner of the Year, for a presentation on long distance running. Geoff will talk about his past year of ultrarunning and give some insight into why he chooses to live and train in Juneau, and what makes him so successful. He will also discuss his preparations and plans for the upcoming Western States 100 in California.

Geoff is a sponsored athlete by Montrail and Mountain Hardwear and both companies are providing a chance to win door prizes for everyone who comes to meet Geoff and find out what he is up to these days.

He will also invite runners to run with him on Saturday afternoon, May 29. Details on Saturday’s run will be provided at the Friday evening presentation.

• 7/18/09 – Crow Pass Crossing 25 miles – 2:57:12 (1st Place and Course Record)
• 9/11/09 – Wasatch 100 miles – 18:30 (1st Place and Course Record)
• 9/25/09 – The Bear 100 miles – 18:43 (1st Place and Course Record)
• 11/7/09 – Mountain Masochist Trail Run 50 miles – 6:27:55 (1st Place and Course Record)
• 12/5/09 – North Face Endurance Challenge 50 miles – 6:40:51 (2nd Place & 2nd fastest time in course history)
• 3/13/10 – Way Too Cool 50k – 3:51:51 (3rd Place – took a wrong turn 2.5 mi from finish and lost the lead, but still finished in 3rd despite close competition from behind)
• 4/10/10 – American River 50 Mile Endurance Run – 5:49:59 (1st Place)
• 5/8/10 – Bear Mountain 50 miles – 7:06:01 (1st Place)
